Dr. Bybee grew up in Bountiful, Utah and attended college at the University of Utah. Throughout college, he actually worked at University Veterinary Hospital as a veterinary technician. He graduated in the Fall of 2007 with an honors bachelor of science degree in Biology with a Chemistry minor. He then attended veterinary school at Colorado State University where he graduated cum laude in 2011. Throughout veterinary school, he was active in research and published a study in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine involving probiotic use in shelter cats. After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Bybee moved to Portland, OR to complete a rotating medical and surgical internship at a large veterinary specialty hospital. He then moved to back to Salt Lake City to practice.
Dr. Bybee’s professional interests include internal medicine, ophthalmology and analgesia (pain relief). Outside of work, he likes mountain biking, road cycling, rock climbing, hiking, trail running, backpacking and camping. His partner, Sara, is a Ph.D. student in the department of nursing at the University of Utah. He has one dog (Bailey) and one cat (Cricket).
